Class Cleaning

Since I had no time to help in cleaning the classroom before, due to the campaign and due to my allergies. I went in today to try get some stuff done. I took my meds and went on to school.

Unfortunately when I arrived there was no one but Marlon. Later Marco came but Marlon had to leave so there wasn't much I could do! Of all times I actually made an effort to go despite not feeling well I tried my best to help the guys out.

I swept the floors then we tried to arrange the carpet in the room. However this still needed to be cut and get cleaned. We tried fitting without cutting it but to no avail. Unfrotunately after 2 hours being there from 10, my eye allergies started to kick in so I needed to go home ASAP to get my eyedrops in.

Profile Pictures w/ LAM

I had the idea of all of us putting up our profile pictures with the Leave a Mark logo. Darren said we should just add the logo on our profile pictures, just like these pre-set filters of Paris, Orlando and so on. However, I felt it better to actually just have our photos taken so they will be cohesive to the rest of the campaign! This will make it easier for people to realise and like this we have control on what is being displayed when it comes to the brand, exhibition, and mostly MCAST as a whole.

Once the photos were taken, of most students who actually turned up, I uploaded the images on our facebook fundraising group so that they could all start uploading them!

Endorsement Campaign Photos 2

This was another session in which we had Mark scicluna and Claire Galea from camilleriparismode come in and take their photo!

Endorsement Campaign Photos

Endorsement Campaign

For our campaign we wanted to get creatives to represent each department at school. Having these creatives show support will give us more exposure and also make our social media content much more interesting.

Each creative will be posing for a photo, of just their face. On this photo we will be photoshopping our leave a mark logo (text only) and adding the dates of the exhibition, and venue.

This is the e-mail I wrote out and then sent out to all creatives together with Jeanette:

Dear Creative,

I trust this email finds you well. My name is Daniel Caruana Lupi and I am the spokesperson for the Promotions and Marketing team of the MCAST Exhibition of 2016, “Leave a Mark”. We were hoping you would be interested in supporting our exhibition by featuring in our advertisement campaign.

Our exhibition this year revolves around the concept of man kind leaving his mark on earth, as a means of artistic expression and communication. The scribble in our logo is the visual representation of a creative’s inner thinking, and we felt that it truly represents what Leave a Mark stands for.

As a collective, “Leave a Mark’s” mission is to expose each and every student’s passions to an ever expansive audience, and how they have felt in leaving a mark on both a creative and impressionable scale. We wanted to diverge away from the previous approaches to the end of year exhibition, and instead create a theme that fully focuses on the individual styles and works that each student has curated over their years at the institute.

To help us promote ourselves we want to gather some of the biggest creatives in Malta and help us expose our brand and exhibition. Through our campaign we want to also acknowledge your work, as without this creative industry our school would not be here today. This will create awareness within and outside of our institute, places where young creatives can aim at becoming part of your team at one point of their career. The campaign is simple. We would like you to represent yourself by having the text “Leave a Mark” placed over a photo of your face (see photo attached as an example). This will be then made into a poster which will be published both digitally and print. The digital material will be heavily advertised on Social Media, which would include Instagram and Facebook.

If it would interest you to part take in our campaign, I would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

We thank you for your time,

Daniel Caruana Lupi

Endorsement Campaign Final Shoot

We finally had our last shoot today! We can officially say that our endorsement campaign is complete! We finally covered all different sectors of the school with creatives from outside and inside MCAST ICA.

I'm more than happy with my team and I feel that me, Jeanette and Manuel did a fantastic job! It was not the easiest task going back and forth with creatives but it finally succeeded and the result seems to be going extremely well!

I've been scheduling creatives and students throughout this past week and the next, helping spread the word for our exhibition! It is also nice to give some students some sort of boost and recognition through this campaign.

At last we thanked Ms. Stephanie, as without her help this would have been near to impossible. We drove her mad constantly booking the studio for more students and creatives but it was all worth it in the end!
