Calendar

One of the first things to do as the promotions team was find out all dates on which there is an event or gathering at which we can go advertise ourselves directly or have poster and banners put up.

I went online and searched for "upcoming events in Malta". I quickly listed all the important dates of use to us and passed them on to Iro' immediately.

These important dates included those such as mothers day which will help us out for fundraising.

Heyday event

At the event itself there were not as many people as I had hoped. The FB event had more than 6 times the amount of people "attending" so it was a bit of a letdown.

At first I assumed we would go round to people handing out the fliers and the stickers, and having a quick word about LAM. However, we decided that since there were a few creatives giving a quick talk or two, one of us should go up and have a quick word. Obviously, that someone ended up being me. Unfortunately I really didn't see it coming so I was not quite sure what to say on the spot in front of such "big" people in the industry - nonetheless it went fine. I just got up on stage and briefly explained who we were and what the exhibition was, hoping they would attend at the end of June.

To finish it off we just went around the groups of people and handed them out a flier and a sticker.

Flyers are done too

120 semi matte ( didn't have full matte) we have 120 flyers .. Total of 15 euros too

Exposure

Exposure - we need it. Literally the more the merrier. To get ourselves out there and noticed we need to start pushing our online presence, This is done by the obvious social media accounts such as Instagram and Facebook. Twitter I feel won't be very successful as it never picked up much within the Maltese islands. I feel that this might not be enough, therefore we must show up places to show ourselves and our branding.

By researching and finding out what events and organisations were going on till the exhibition was a heyday event orgasnised as a chill out zone for creatives to meet up. A perfect opportunity for us to get the word around and give leave a mark a boost. Only problem is there are about 5days till the event.

A quick discussion was held between my lecturers and the promotions team and Iro'. We concluded a quick poster and a sticker would do for now. We did not need something over the top but something straight tot he point. I volunteered to do the stickers and the fliers because I felt I had a good idea of what was needed. The stickers were simple to do and in fact I presented 3-5 different choices (available to be printed on both transparency and white background).

Next was the poster, this was discussed within the group and between myself and mr Duncan at school. Dates were not yet verified, nor are sponsors. the flier was going to be designed as a "teaser", the logo, institute and "end of june". Simple, clean and to the point.

Choosing Groups

At the beginning of the semester we were given the option to choose what group we would want to be in, to make and complete this exhibition.

I kept in mind projection mapping of first semester. I did extremely well in what I chose in that assignment as I picked based on what I knew and am most fluent at. \trying something new on such a big project would be too risky at this point with our compressed deadlines. However, in this unit Mamo recommended we just focus on ONE area and give it our all.

Since I did very well in my first semester and work in marketing at my part time job, I chose "promotions and marketing". I feel like it is something I will enjoy and complete to the recommended criteria. Seeing that it is group work I just sincerely hope people take it seriously as it is impressive how important the marketing and advertising role is in this exhibition. #TeamPromoMarketing
